Description
Parked on front lawn daily, despite ample space in driveway. Renters enjoy the irritation they cause neighbors; landlord enjoys threatening neighbors who call about this house. Constant revving of motorcycles at all hours. Tenants sometimes ride motorcycles on SIDEWALKS.

1304 W. Barnes is a NIGHTMARE! (Guest)
Last year, I called LPD several times about these residents riding their motorcycles down the sidewalk. Each time, I was told the officers had to see it happening. Finally, one Friday afternoon, I was able to call the non-emergency number (before 5 pm) after they had been doing this for more than half an hour. The officers came out, banged on the apartment door (it's the upstairs people), quickly took "no, we didn't do that" for an answer, and left. The officers didn't do anything about the motorcycles parked on the lawn, even though they could have cited them.
I know LPD has too much work and that this isn't high priority, or even medium priority, but getting away with it seems to have led these folks into believing they can act with total impunity. And they can - or at least have, so far.
You can smell the marijuana coming from this house merely by standing on the sidewalk. (The mj use is from both upstairs and downstairs tenants.) Last time I called about it, dispatch asked if I knew whether it was medical mj. (Unless they become catastrophically ill ONLY on Sunday afternoon and evening when friends are over, I doubt it. We're not talking about one joint - you can smell it outside.) Because I couldn't assure dispatch that the residents don't have medical mj cards, dispatch didn't send a car.
That's THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S JOB, not mine.
It's sickening. This is such a nice street with so many good people. I shudder every time I think of the little kids on bikes on THE SAME SIDEWALK as those motorcycles. I've talked to LPD, I've talked to Code, I've talked to the City Attorney's office. Everything is some other department's problem. Memo to the city: this is why middle class people don't want to live here any more.
