Description
The new bike lane in Central Square is great!
However, there's a big planter that keeps people trying to cross the street and people biking from seeing each other. It's scary because you can't see bikes approaching until the very last second if you are trying to cross. You also can't yield to pedestrians if they're hidden behind the planter while you're cycling.
Finding a new location for the planter, moving it north a yard, or pruning the material down so it is shorter would fix this.

Have you been to Central Square since the bike lane went in? The bike lane is where the parking used to be, so the planter on the bump out blocks the line of sight between people walking and biking.
People driving have the planter off to one side and have several seconds in which to spot people waiting to cross. People on bikes have about a second between when the sightline opens up and when they arrive at the crosswalk. Moving the planter a few feet would fix it so there are several seconds of visibility again.
