That sounds really unpleasant! I know community mediation has been really good at helping out in the city. Also, I'd talk to your alderman about the issue. Maybe they can help out.

The problem is the air, I do not live by Arthur I live in the corner of Lamberton and the Blvd. They are in my yard, how are they going to stop the noise and dust??? Its impossible, I was not aware of this business coming into the neighborhood or my yard. I know Metal Managment is a SNEAK, SNAKE, they rented the property to Laydon to make there money, they do not care about the community at ALL...
If I get sick will they pay my medical when my home falls apart because of the tremble will the fix it, no they will not.. Mediation are for children to get along, not a business trying to hurt peoples health..

When are they going to fix the issue. Yesterday August 15, 2013 at 1:30pm the trembling and noise was out of control, its worst then them working on the Q-Bridge. I'm not going to sell my house because the city can't fix this dam issue. The state and city are focused on a intersection light Lamberton St and Ella Grasso. How about the scrap yard your right in front of the buisness. I'm tired of this crap, I'll fight to lower my taxes because of this issue. The wall they have up does NOTHING for the neighbors we feel the trembling, its damaging my property the cement around the foundation is getting worse. This house or houses are over 100 years old, the city focussed on city point for historical district, but on Morris St where we also have old grannies no one wants to know.

Today Friday the 27th of Sept my house felt like a 5 of a earthquake. The noise is unexplainable, you jave yo see the dust thats on the glass table on the deck. I clean it 3days later again, the wind blows all those particles by our way. Do you know I complained to the city about the dust do you know what they did LMAO.
They sent someone the day after it rained. I had a paper towel that I had cleaned with a week before (cleaned with a dry paper towel no water) they said they could not use it because I could of wiped it some where else.

Please help us I've lived here 50yrs second generation my parents brought me up in this neighborhood I bought the house next door to them so I can be close to help. What will make me leave its not the neighbors, its SIMS scrapyard. It was called Bixon when I was growing up and it was never the way its now. They sat 150 feet back from Ella Grasso, who let them move that close we don't know. The neighbors complaint they were NEVER notified about this change. The dust in the air that we know is carrying something that is not good for our health. Every third day I clean the glass top table on my deck you wouldn't believe what's on the paper towel. I pressure wash the siding you wouldn't believe what comes down from that. I thank nature, the trees for filtering the air but the nasty dust is killing the tree's right next to his property (SIMS). I know the ex-mayor was involved with this buisness and the family that owns this business sells it but still is partners with the next buyer. I've talked with him many times and this is the song he gives me. I'm giving jobs to the community, the people working there two of them are from the city. He also stated I've spent so much money on a sound barrier, you tell me does it work I have video, and lets not even go with the shaking of the homes. I had to replace ALL the walls and ceiling with sheetrock, I have video and pictures also of that. The foundation is cracking. THE CITY OF NEW HAVEN HAS TO STEP UP and help the community, otherwise people just won't care. I need help and my neighbors I hope Mrs.HARP can help us. Thank you for taking time to see this problem. They need to be stopped or to fix it. Hugh eye sore to the neighborhood, we don't need this let them move in with there sister company in middletown ave there's no residential there just businesses.
